Monte Whitley was 30 when he was shot to death in Pittsburgh on July 16, 2017. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found his body between two houses on the 200 block of Lombard Street in the Crawford-Roberts section; he had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Pittsburgh police canvassed the area and appealed for witnesses in the days after the shooting, but no arrests or publicly identified suspects were announced. The case became one of the city’s unsolved homicides and is listed as a cold case by organizations that track unresolved killings. No significant public developments about persons of interest or arrests have been reported.
If anyone knew Monte, saw activity on Lombard Street that morning, or has information that could help, please come forward to investigators.
