Having spent some time in the Portland area, I've always been struck by how unresolved cases from decades ago still haunt the community. The tragic incident involving Michael Clune is one such case that lingers in memory. It's unsettling to think about how a man lost his life over what seems to have been a heated confrontation about a bottle. My heart goes out to Clune’s family and anyone who cared about him, as they’ve been left without closure for so long. What stands out to me is just how close it seemed to unraveling. Witnesses got a good look at the suspect, yet identifying him has been elusive. I often wonder if there’s someone out there who might have noticed the older man described—gray, shoulder-length hair and all. Perhaps to them, he seemed like just another passerby that day. It's crucial for anyone who might remember something, however small, to come forward. Hopefully, fresh information will surface, sparking a renewed investigation and finally bringing answers to those connected to the case. If anyone has insight or even the slightest hint of a lead, it's worth reaching out to the Cold Case Unit. You never know what might break a case wide open, even after all these years.
