Hey everyone, I've been thinking about the Irvin Goff case from Edgard, Louisiana. It's been almost two decades, and there's still no trace of him. Does anyone else wonder why it took his family until April 2005 to report him missing, despite him having terminal cancer and a mental disability? I get that he was used to going on long journeys, but with his health condition, it just seems odd to me. Were there cultural or family dynamics at play? Would love to hear any thoughts or similar cases where family members were accustomed to such absences. Sometimes it's the little things in these cases that can lead to new insights. ?

Does anyone remember if Irvin Goff had any particular routes or favorite places he’d go on his walks from Edgard to New Orleans? Given his walks could be pretty lengthy, I wonder if he had any specific spots he liked to visit. It seems odd that someone could just vanish without a trace, especially if he might have been talking to people or stopping by familiar places on his travels. Did any local businesses or neighborhoods recall seeing him during these walks? Even the smallest memory could be a crucial piece of his story.

I've always been curious about why some families delay reporting a missing person, and Irvin Goff's case is a prime example. His family waited several months before reporting his disappearance, and while I understand they were used to his long walks and absences, I can't help but wonder if there was something more to it. Could there have been an unspoken understanding or a fear about his health declining? It seems like not keeping up with his medical appointments could have been a red flag. Families often know more about underlying behaviors or issues than what comes out initially. Does anyone else think there might have been unreported signs or reasons for the delay?
