Hey everyone,
I've been following Roy Evalt's case for a while now, and something that really sticks with me is how trusting he was described to be. Living in his van, it seems like he had a small community around him, and perhaps that made him feel safe. But I wonder if this openness might have contributed to his tragic end.
I've read that his van was parked there for quite some time, so the person who did this might have observed him and known his routine. It’s concerning that despite being such a public place, NE Marine Drive didn’t provide more witnesses or clues. I'm hoping as we keep discussing and sharing information, something new might come to light. Keeping Roy's story alive is crucial for finding justice.
My heart goes out to his family and friends, and I hope they find peace until this mystery is solved.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about that old case of Roy Evalt's murder and something keeps lingering in my mind. There are reports that Roy was kind-hearted and quite trusting, traits that may have unfortunately increased his vulnerability. This part strikes me because it highlights how people with gentle, open natures can sometimes become easy targets for those with ill intentions. It's deeply troubling how trust can be weaponized against someone so undeserving of such a fate.

Roy's lifestyle, living out of his van, definitely wasn’t conventional, but it seems like it was his choice and he adapted well. Those who knew him speak highly of his friendliness and good heart, describing him as someone who would offer help without hesitation. It’s really upsetting to think that his openness might have led him to welcome the wrong person into his space.

I feel for his family and friends, as it must be incredibly painful to still not have answers after all these years. It’s crucial we keep his story alive in hopes that someone comes forward with new information. Maybe there are people out there who remember something about that time—even the smallest detail could be the piece to finally bring some justice for Roy. Any thoughts?
It's such a tragedy what happened to Roy Evalt. Living out of a converted van, he clearly had a unique lifestyle and it seems like he was just trying to make the best of his situation. Something that really stands out to me is how much trust he must have placed in people—even when the world looked the other way. It's hard not to admire that kind of openness, but I can't help but think it might have put him in harm's way.
The fact that his van sat in the same spot for weeks gives me chills. It's puzzling that nobody noticed anything unusual, especially in a city like Portland. I wonder if anyone living nearby or frequenting Marine Drive might recall hearing or seeing something around that time. Sometimes, all it takes is a small detail for things to click into place in cases like this. I hope that sharing these memories might finally lead to justice for Roy and peace for his loved ones. If you were in that area around November 1985, even the smallest recollection might help.
