I recently revisited Bianca Piper's case, and something that I've been pondering is the suggestion from her counselor that she use walks to manage her anger. On one hand, I understand the intention behind allowing her some space to cool down, but on the other hand, it seems risky given her age and diagnosis. I wonder if anyone has insights into whether this was common advice for managing anger in teens with similar diagnoses at the time? It could have made her vulnerable to someone with bad intentions that day. Just thinking about how certain methods might need reevaluation in light of safety concerns. Anyone else have any theories on this approach or the implications it might have had?
I'm really struck by how Bianca's disappearance still remains a mystery after all these years. I came across her story recently, and just can't get out of my mind how the simple act of taking a walk to calm down could lead to something so tragic. It makes me think about that stretch of McIntosh Hill Road – is it heavily wooded? Could it have been easy for someone with bad intentions to approach her unnoticed? It seems bizarre that in such a short distance from her home, no trace of her has ever been found. Also, it's puzzling how there were no sightings despite it being early evening. Were there any people or vehicles reported in the area around that time? I know they looked into Michael Devlin without results, but it seems like this case needs more attention. What are everyone else's thoughts?
