I was reading about the Larkie Toups case again today, and something that keeps sticking with me is the detail about his hotel room door being left open with his ID and key inside. It just feels so odd to me. Why would he leave those essentials behind? If he was known to get disoriented, could it be possible he mistook the room for another? But then again, it seems risky to just leave without these items, especially if you're wandering around in an unfamiliar place. Maybe officers should have kept a closer watch on him after checking him into the motel. The family’s suspicion of foul play makes sense, especially if there were suspects identified, but I wish there were more concrete answers. Anyone else have thoughts on what might've transpired that night?
