I keep thinking about who Azucena might have known well enough to let them into such a secure area at her workplace. It's chilling that there were no signs of forced entry, which points to the possibility that her killer was someone she trusted or at least someone who seemed trustworthy. It just breaks my heart to think she might have felt safe with this person right up until the attack. It feels like such a deep betrayal. What's really puzzling is that despite interviewing so many people, the investigators didn't manage to find enough evidence to identify a suspect. I wonder if there were any colleagues or people close to her at Lane Community College or DolEx that had odd behavior or suddenly left town afterwards? Even with the language barriers, surely someone must have seen or heard something that night. I really feel for her family and friends—they must be so desperate for answers after all this time. I truly hope that with advances in forensic technology and renewed interest, some new evidence might come to light. Azucena deserves justice, and her case needs to remain in the public eye until it's solved.
