Hey everyone, I just stumbled upon this case and can't stop thinking about the impact it must have left on the Bayview-Hunters Point community. It’s been so many years, yet there still seems to be a cloud of silence hanging over what happened to Tydis James. I’m wondering if anyone has insight into what the atmosphere in the neighborhood was like right after the shooting? Was there tension or fear that might have kept people from speaking up? Knowing a vibrant 17-year-old was taken that night, it’s hard not to feel for his family and friends who are still searching for closure. It makes me wonder if there are people who still want to talk but feel like they can’t. Hoping this post can bring out some voices that might help shed light on things that aren’t in the police reports. Any thoughts on what could be done to help encourage anyone who might have seen something to come forward now, even after all this time? Remember, that reward is still out there, and it might be enough to help jog someone’s memory. Stay safe, everyone.
