I recently found myself reading about the Camp Scott case again, and it's just so difficult to wrap my head around how something so horrendous could happen in a place meant for joy and friendship. What has struck me this time is the terrible irony that the evidence found at the scene—a simple red flashlight and a footprint—didn't bring us the answers everyone needed.
It's baffling that even with modern technology, the tests have been unable to pin down a suspect with absolute certainty. I can only imagine what Doris Milner's family must feel every time a new lead emerges, only to fall short of providing closure.
The whole situation makes me think about how crucial it is for law enforcement to preserve evidence thoroughly, even if the technology to analyze it isn't available yet. Had the evidence been handled any less carefully, who knows if we'd even have the hints we do now? I hope that one day soon, new advances finally bring clarity to this case for the families and the tight-knit communities that were affected.
Has anyone else been looking into the administrative decisions made by Camp Scott before and after the tragic events? I've been combing through some old articles and reports, and it seems like there were multiple security concerns raised by staff before June 13, 1977. It’s incredibly tough to imagine how terrified Doris, Lori, and Michele must have felt, and my heart goes out to their families who are still seeking justice after all these years. I know the camp was closed permanently after the murders, but it makes me wonder if any similar camps have learned from these lapses. Have procedures improved? It's just so sad that these young girls became victims of such a heinous crime. If anyone has more info or resources about camp safety protocol changes over the decades, I'd appreciate it. Let's hope we see some resolution soon for the sake of these families.
Hey everyone, I've been diving into the Girl Scout murders at Camp Scott and I can't stop thinking about Doris Denise Milner's bravery during that horrific night. I recently read some accounts that mentioned she might have tried to protect her friends when the attack happened. It reminds me of the incredible courage kids can show, even in the scariest situations. My heart truly goes out to Doris's family and friends who have been dealing with this enduring pain for so many years. It saddens me to think of how her life was cut short and the potential she never got to fulfill.
Now, with the newer DNA findings, I’m really hoping it might finally bring some answers. But I can't help wondering why it has taken so long and if there's anything more that can still be done. Anyone have thoughts on what could happen next with the investigation? Sending love and thoughts to all who need it.
