I've been thinking a lot about the details around Patricia Palmer's case, especially the description of the suspect's vehicle. It's intriguing how specific eyewitness accounts were about the car—a black-over-dark blue 1972-74 Chevrolet Impala, clean, and possibly recently repainted. The detail about the chrome dealer decal and the CB antenna could be crucial.
I can't help but wonder if focusing on the paintwork might have been a missed opportunity. A fresh coat could mean the car was in some kind of accident or needed repairs not long before the crime, which means there might be records at local body shops. Has anyone looked into whether there were any Impalas with similar descriptions reported to body shops around that time?
My heart goes out to Patricia's family. Decades without answers must be unimaginably difficult. The Cold Case Unit surely has mountains of data by now, but public tips can breathe new life into investigations. If anyone remembers something about that car or the dealer logo, even after all these years, it could make a difference.
