Has anyone looked into the angle of Madeline’s job at Fred's Tavern? It's always struck me as a bit odd that she was working two jobs, plus dealing with her medical issues and personal struggles. Working as a barmaid in the 60s probably exposed her to a lot of people, some of whom might not have had the best intentions. Bartenders tend to hear all sorts of things, plus she might have had regular patrons paying her unwanted attention. What if someone from her job was either the 'friend' who offered her the ride or knows more than they've ever said? Seems like both her workplaces could hold some more clues that were maybe overlooked. Crazy how a job meant to pay the bills might have led to something darker. Thoughts?
Has anyone else looked into Madeline's work at Fred's Tavern? I'm wondering if there's more to dig into here. Bars can sometimes attract a shady crowd, especially in the '60s, with lots of people coming and going. Maybe someone there saw or heard something the night before she went missing? Also, considering she had a second job in Santa Monica, maybe someone from there picked up on something unusual. It's always puzzled me why there wasn't more focus on who this mysterious "friend" might have been. Could it have been someone from one of her workplaces? Given her history and the time period, it's possible she trusted someone she met along the way, perhaps without knowing them very well. I just feel like there might still be some stone left unturned in her professional circles. Thoughts?
Does anyone have more information about the friend Madeline mentioned? The fact that she called her mom and specifically said she was getting a ride sounds like this person might be crucial to understanding what happened. The detail about her belongings being gone from her apartment is puzzling, too. It suggests she intended to move, but then why wouldn't she have arrived at her family's home as planned? Maybe she mentioned something to someone at Fred's Tavern or at her other job in Santa Monica. I wonder if any of her coworkers ever talked to investigators back then. It seems like someone might know more about her plans around that time. Thoughts?
