I recently read about the case of Derran Conway Rogers, and there's something that strikes me as truly puzzling. Given that Derran was 6 feet tall at the age of 13, it's hard to believe that he could vanish so completely without someone seeing something that day. His height would have made him quite noticeable, even in a crowd. Does anyone else think this could mean he was more likely to be seen if he wasn't taken far from the area? I wonder if anyone else from around Randy Street or near Downey High remembers seeing a tall boy walking that morning, even if it seemed insignificant at the time. It's these small, forgotten details that can sometimes crack a case wide open. If anyone knows more about the area in 1973 and the typical school route, it might help us piece together what happened, even after all these years.

Has anyone else looked into the area between Derran's home and Downey High School where he was last seen walking? It seems unusual that a 13-year-old could completely vanish without leaving any trace. I've been trying to piece together a map or route he might have taken back in 1973, considering available roads and paths during that time. Were there any construction projects or less-traveled paths where someone familiar with the area could take advantage of the secluded spots? It would be great to hear if someone has local knowledge or old maps that could shed light on potential locations that might have been overlooked during the initial searches.
