Has anyone considered the possibility that Bonita and Mitch might have encountered someone with malicious intentions while trying to hitchhike back to Brooklyn? I know there have been theories about them falling into the Delaware River, but given the nature of the festival and the sheer number of people on the roads that weekend, it seems just as plausible that they could have crossed paths with someone dangerous. It's a chilling thought, but with so many people coming and going, it's certainly possible for someone with ill intentions to blend into the crowd. I'm curious if anyone knows if there were similar reports of foul play or suspicious incidents involving other attendees around that time. It might provide some clues or patterns that investigators could have overlooked back then. Thoughts?

I've recently been looking into the disappearance of Bonita Bickwit and Mitch Weiser, and something struck me about their last known whereabouts. Narrowsburg, NY, where they were last seen, is pretty remote even today. In 1973, it must have felt like the edge of the world. I've been trying to imagine what the area was like back then—probably not well lit, with few witnesses around, especially after most concertgoers had left. Does anyone know more about the local area during that time? Like, were there any known informal gathering spots along Route 97 where people would hitchhike, or was it mainly deserted? It makes me wonder if they might have been in a more vulnerable position than we realize, especially if it got dark before someone gave them a lift. It's so baffling how they could just vanish after such a big event. Would love to hear from anyone familiar with that area back in the '70s.
