I was reading about the tragic case of Ocie Mae Platt, and something that really stood out to me was the fact that nothing seemed to be taken from her home. It makes me wonder what kind of person would commit such a violent act for seemingly no reason. The idea that someone could break in and do this without the typical motive of robbery is so unsettling. Could it have been someone she knew, perhaps someone who held a grudge? It’s baffling to think about what could drive someone to attack a 70-year-old woman who had recently been ill. It's been over 30 years, and I can't imagine the pain Ocie's son, Julian, and the rest of the family must feel not having answers. Let’s hope that with new forensic technology, something might surface that can finally solve this case. My heart goes out to her family and friends, and I hope they can one day find the closure they deserve.
