I've been reading a lot about Ricky Dale Krater's case recently, and I keep thinking about the friends who found him that night. I can't imagine how traumatic it must have been for them to come across such a horrific scene. Losing a friend is hard enough, but to be the ones who discovered him in such tragic circumstances must add an entirely different layer of pain and confusion.
It’s unsettling to think that these friends might hold the key to a small detail that could assist in solving the case, but perhaps trauma and shock have clouded those memories. Maybe talking to a counselor or a memory retrieval expert could uncover something overlooked. I hope they have been given the support they needed back then and continue to receive it. These cold cases not only affect the victim’s immediate family but ripple through the lives of all who knew them.
