Has anyone else been diving into the mysterious disappearance of Michael Lee Montelongo? I got caught up in a rabbit hole reading up on cases from the '70s, and his story really stood out to me. One thing that puzzles me is the unexplained sightings. There was that unconfirmed account of him supposedly seen walking down Alamo Street, but it doesn’t lead anywhere. How could a sighting of a 5-year-old not result in more clues? Does anyone know if there were any follow-ups on that specific lead? It just seems strange that nothing concrete came of it. I'm curious if anyone has more information or theories about it!
I've been reading up on the Montelongo case and came across something that really caught my attention. Why did Michael’s mother, Enedelia, leave San Benito during the investigation? From what I gathered, she moved and eventually stopped communicating with law enforcement altogether. Even though she passed a polygraph test, this decision seems a bit odd to me, especially while your child is missing. I understand people might react differently under stress, but it feels like there’s more to this part of the story. Could it be that she just couldn't handle the attention or grief? Or is there another explanation that hasn't been shared publicly? Would love to know what you all think about this angle.
Has anyone else noticed the connection between the drainage ditch theory and the other kids from the neighborhood who also played there? I stumbled upon a few old newspaper clips that mentioned how many neighborhood kids used to hang around that ditch area, and it got me thinking about the mix of possible dangers there. Could there be any connection with another accident or disappearance we might have overlooked? The water levels being high at the time is definitely concerning, but it seems odd that no trace was ever found. I'm wondering if any of the other neighborhood kids might have seen something or if there were any kind of incidents reported around that ditch prior to Michael's disappearance. It's just an angle that keeps nagging at me because environmental hazards, especially to little kids, can sometimes get overlooked in bigger investigations. Hoping some fresh eyes on these old details might shed some light.
