I was recently re-reading about Selinda Jean Winegar's case, and something that caught my attention is the call her family received claiming she was in the Winooski River. Has there ever been a credible reason or suspect identified for that particular call? It's odd to me that no thorough search of the river was conducted, given the specificity of the claim. I'm curious about whether there were logistical challenges at the time or if the tip was just considered not credible enough. Maybe there’s still a chance someone local around Burlington back then might recall something useful. Anyone have any insights?

I recently came across Selinda Winegar's case from 1979, and I can't help but feel drawn to the mysterious phone calls her family received. Does anyone else think this could be a crucial overlooked clue? The timing seems so suspect, especially with the threats starting just months before she disappeared. Could these calls have been from someone she knew, one of those in that "troubled crowd" she was hanging around with? It’s haunting to think that there might be a connection that was never fully explored. If those calls could be linked back to someone, it might give her family the answers they've been seeking all these years. Curious to hear if anyone else has thoughts or theories on this aspect.
