Hey everyone, been really diving into the Carolyn and Mark Martin case lately, and something just doesn't sit right with me about the whole interstate detour story by Harry Kirezian. If Carolyn decided she wasn't moving to Texas and asked to be dropped off near Toledo, why would she do it with only a suitcase and $4,000 cash, especially with a toddler in tow? Seems like a really odd place to be stranded, and it doesn't make much sense if they were planning to start fresh. Plus, that part about car trouble is so vague. Did anyone ever get reports about his car breaking down around that time? Feels like some crucial details might have gotten glossed over. Also, for him to refuse a polygraph and then change his name later—feels like a lot of red flags. I wonder if there were any follow-ups with towing companies or mechanics that corroborated his story back then. It's such an old case, and answers are hard to come by, but maybe there's a missing piece someone overlooked.

Has anyone else been curious about the suitcase Carolyn supposedly had with her? If she really intended to start a brand new life and just changed her mind last-minute, wouldn't she have taken more than just one suitcase? Plus, the whole $4,000 in cash part seems off to me. That's a lot of money to carry around casually, especially with a toddler in tow. From what I've read, there's no trace of this suitcase, and the cash hasn't surfaced either. Do cases like this usually show up somewhere, or is it typical for these items to just vanish along with the person? It just feels like there's more to this, and I'm wondering if anyone else thinks the suitcase could hold some crucial clues that have been overlooked.
