Just came across the case of Rachel Lambert, and it has really struck me. It's so difficult to understand how cracks in the system can allow such tragedies to happen. It's beyond me that someone with a previous child abuse conviction could be in a position to harm another child. There must be more robust processes in place to ensure convicted abusers are closely monitored, especially after release. From what I've read, it seems that some serious reform is needed within child protection services. Wasn't the earlier conviction enough of a red flag? I understand that resources can be stretched, but how many more children have to suffer before changes are made? It’s deeply unsettling to realize how often these things slip through the cracks. My heart goes out to Rachel’s remaining siblings, who I hope are receiving the love and support they need. It's going to be a long road to healing for them. ?️
