I have a theory regarding a possible match to an unidentified body that was found but there is a problem with the timeline. Does anyone have more information about who gave the information on when she was last seen or if there is any possibility that that information could be incorrect?

That’s an interesting angle, and you’re right to flag timeline issues—“last seen” dates can sometimes be based on the last confirmed sighting vs. the last reported contact.

I haven't seen documentation on who specifically provided the Aug. 15, 1982 date (family, employer, friend, etc.). Public listings usually just repeat the investigating agency’s summary, and they don’t cite the original witness/source.

If you think there’s a possible UID match despite a timeline mismatch, it’s still worth submitting—investigators can compare DNA/dentals and evaluate whether the last-seen date could be “last verified,” not exact. I’d suggest sending what you have (UID case ID, why you think it matches, and what part of the timeline conflicts) directly to the agencies handling tips: Broward County Sheriff’s Office, NJ State Police, and/or NCMEC. They can confirm what the last-seen date is based on and whether there were later unverified sightings.

Did anyone happen to come across any articles or threads discussing the biker Leah was staying with? I’ve been digging around but haven’t found much other than he was a person of interest. Seems like that angle could’ve been explored more. Working at a bar and living with him kind of paints a picture of the crowd she might have been mingling with, but I wonder if her working and living arrangements were thoroughly examined, especially back in the early '80s when records might’ve been tougher to track down. I’m curious if anyone knows more about who he was or had any interactions with him around the time Leah disappeared. With so many people still looking for answers, I think looking back at those who were closest to her during that time could shed some light.
I’ve always been intrigued by Leah Van Schoick’s case, mostly because of the complexities around it. Something that's really stuck in my mind is how she was living with a biker at that time. Was there ever any information about the biker's possible connections or criminal background? Living within that kind of circle could sometimes bring a person into risky situations. Could there have been any witness from the bar in Hallandale Beach who might've seen something suspicious in the time leading up to her disappearance? It puzzles me that despite the suspicions around him, there wasn’t enough evidence to press charges. Wondering if anyone has found more details on that angle or if there are other lines of inquiry that have come to light since then. It’s so important for anyone with even the tiniest detail to speak up. Those small pieces can be pivotal in an investigation like this.
