I've been following the Otis Colbert case for a while now, and I keep thinking about how frightening it must have been for Otis and his girlfriend when they heard that noise at the door. It’s supposed to be a place of safety, and the idea of a home invasion just erodes that sense of security so violently. It’s deeply unsettling to imagine being woken up to something like that in the middle of the night. I can’t help but feel for his girlfriend and the trauma she must have endured. Knowing she lost him in such a sudden and violent way must be incredibly difficult, not to mention living with the fear of knowing the person who did this is still out there. I hope that someone with knowledge of the incident finds the courage to come forward. Otis and his family deserve answers and justice.
