I've been fascinated by David Robert Gionet's case for a while now, and I wanted to dive into the details about his fear of water and how it might play a role in his disappearance. It's intriguing to me that despite this fear, some initially thought he might have fallen through the ice. It just doesn't add up considering his known anxiety and behavior of removing his ice shanty due to safety concerns. It seems unlikely that someone so cautious would suddenly take such a risk.
I wonder if anyone has looked into his social connections at that time. I mean, it's worth exploring if someone might have had a reason to mislead the investigation or provided false intel about him walking across the lake. I find it strange that no clues were ever found on the ice or nearby. Anyone local who remembers if there were rumors back then or if anything suspicious was going around that community?
Has anyone looked into the possibility of David Gionet not heading towards the lake at all that morning? I’ve been reading on the case, and the removal of his ice shanty seems significant. If he was so fearful of the ice that he took the shanty off days prior, I find it hard to believe he’d forget that fear and risk it in the early morning hours. Could he have had plans to meet someone else or taken a different route home? Even if it's a long shot, it feels like there might be something worth exploring in those directions. And what about the party—has anyone from there shared more about what was going on that night? Just curious if anyone has thoughts on these angles.
Hey everyone, I'm curious if anyone remembers or has any info about what the party scene was like around the Interlochen area back in the early '80s, especially with regards to David Robert Gionet’s disappearance. I’ve read about how he left a gathering early one morning and then vanished. Could it be possible that something happened at the party or maybe someone at the party knows more than they’ve said? I'm wondering if any old partygoers or locals have stories or rumors that circulated at the time. Even after all these years, sometimes memories can be jogged by conversations, places, or people—it would be interesting to hear any tidbits surrounding that early morning gathering. Let’s keep David in our thoughts as we try to piece together what might have happened.
