Has anyone else been following the Chester Wetmore case and the confession from James Barnes? It's been gnawing at me how Barnes, already on death row, can remain uncharged in this despite his confession. It seems like such a twisted story—he says Chester was running away, then claims Chester stole from him, which led to his murder. But without physical evidence, it's like the confession is stuck in this legal limbo. I keep wondering if there's still untapped info out there from that time in Bradenton in '86 or if someone else might recall seeing Chester or Barnes back then. It just feels like there’s more to uncover that could finally bring some closure to this poor family. Curious if anyone has thoughts on why cases like this seem to hit so many dead ends, especially after such a direct confession.
Did anyone else catch that eerie detail about the blue checkered shirt Chester was last seen wearing? I know it's just an article of clothing, but it got me thinking about how it might have stuck in Barnes' mind, too. It's like sometimes these small details get burned into memory—both for those missing and the ones involved in their disappearance. I wonder if that shirt, something so ordinary, became a part of Chester's identity to Barnes. The emotional weight attached to simple things in these cases always gets to me. I wish there were more updates or evidence to help bring closure to Chester's family. It's been so long, yet it feels so unresolved. Any thoughts on why Barnes would confess now, after so much time?
