Does anyone else find it strange that Joseph Stanley's claim about being coerced now seems almost forgotten? I mean, the fact that both trials ended in mistrials makes me wonder what kind of evidence was actually presented. Was there something the jury saw, or didn't see, that left them unconvinced? And what about the anonymous tip that first suggested Gentry was shot? It's intriguing (and frustrating) how these pieces never fully came together. Seems like a lot for one person to manage if they really were under so much duress, right? Yet without Martin's body, it feels like we're all still piecing together a puzzle with so many missing pieces. Anyone else digging into this angle or have more insights?
Hey everyone—has anyone looked into the possibility that Martin was connected to any local gangs or criminal activities around the time he vanished? I'm not trying to imply anything negative about him, but given the circumstances of his disappearance and the involvement of marijuana, it could be a factor. Living in Rancho Cordova back in the '80s, this wouldn't have been unheard of. Sometimes, wrong place, wrong time situations arise, especially if someone stumbles into something bigger than they realized. The anonymous tip about him being shot adds another layer to this theory. I'm really curious to hear what others think. Any local history buffs out there with more insight into the scene back then? Maybe this direction's been explored, but it could be a piece of the puzzle that needs more attention. Thoughts?
