It's really puzzling how Cindy left behind her whole life, including her car, pets, and even a tax refund check. I can't imagine anyone just leaving all of that behind willingly. Her shoes being found at home makes it seem like she was planning to come back. It's odd how Taylor claimed she took off with a random guy to Daytona Beach, yet she didn't pack anything significant.
Also, her father's discovery of that bloodstained mattress a month later should have been a major red flag. It's so frustrating how the investigation seemed to have stalled in those early crucial days. If only today's DNA technology was available back then; maybe we'd have more answers today. Anyway, Taylor's gone now, and I'm fearing this might be one of those cases that never gets resolved. Anything new develop recently? It's been so long now.
Hey everyone,
I've been really engrossed in the Cindy Lee Smith case lately and wanted to discuss a strange detail that seems to stand out. It's about the tax refund check she left behind. Given the situation she was in, thinking about leaving Taylor and planning to move back in with her parents, wouldn’t a tax refund check be pretty crucial for someone in her position? It’s not the kind of thing most people would just abandon unless something unexpected happened.
Also, I found it odd that Taylor mentioned she left with some unknown man to Daytona Beach. It seems very convenient that no one else saw this happen, and Cindy’s car was still at home. Why leave a means of transportation behind if she was planning to start fresh in a different city? The tax refund just adds another layer to the mystery. What are everyone else's thoughts on this part of the case? Could this have been a key factor if her intention was really to move away from him?
Would love to hear your insights!
Does anyone else find it incredibly frustrating that they discarded the bloodstained mattress evidence in Cindy Lee Smith's case? I recently read about her disappearance, and it blows my mind that crucial evidence can just be discarded because DNA testing wasn't available back then. I understand it was the late 80s, but it feels like such a critical piece of the puzzle. Imagine what today's technology might have uncovered if they had kept it. I really feel for her family, who might have had answers if only the evidence had been preserved. Does anyone know if this was a common practice back then? Can't help but think justice was set back due to those decisions.
