I've been diving back into Deisy Herrera's case, and something that stands out to me is the situation with her parents around the time of her disappearance. Their estrangement makes me wonder if there were any tensions or suspicions that might not have been fully explored back then. Emotional turmoil could lead to overlooked details or hidden motives. Also, given the theories about her possibly being taken to Mexico, I’m curious if there was ever a thorough check on both sides of the family living in or traveling to Mexico during that period. Maybe someone with connections there might have information? I just hope someday we find at least one piece of the puzzle that leads to answers.

Did anyone else notice the strange detail about the neighbors not hearing anything unusual the day Deisy went missing? It's a busy neighborhood, and kids playing is normal, but I've always found it odd that no one in the area reported seeing anything out of place or hearing any commotion when she disappeared. I know sometimes people just don’t pay attention, but it makes you wonder if there was more going on in that neighborhood that day. Could it be that her disappearance wasn't loud or noticeable because whoever took her was familiar with the area and knew exactly how to blend in? It’s just one of those aspects of the case that’s been sticking with me. What do others think about this?

I recently came across a forum thread about Deisy Herrera, and it got me thinking about something that's been bothering me for a while. Has anyone else looked into the possibility that Deisy might have been taken out of state, rather than to Mexico as was once speculated? I know there was that angle with McCurdy because of his other crimes, but considering how close Bakersfield is to major highways, it's not out of the question that she was moved far from the area quickly. Back in the late '80s, police records weren't as interconnected between states as they are now, so a kidnapper could have taken her a state or two over without much notice. I've been trying to find if there were any similar cases reported around the same time, but information can be so scattered. Wondering if anyone else has a good source or database they use for research? Would love to hear if there are gaps that can finally be filled after all these years.
