I’ve been following George Dewey Nutting’s case for a while now, and something that keeps sticking out to me is the timeline around his disappearance. If his wife saw him walking away from the club when she left, it's strange that no one else reportedly saw where he went. Was the parking lot or nearby area busy that night? I imagine with multiple altercations happening at the club, it would likely have been crowded or at least have some witnesses around. You'd think someone might have seen which direction he headed or if he met up with anyone. It makes me wonder if the altercation rumors were serious enough that people were too afraid to speak up, or maybe there was less foot traffic than expected? Anyone have thoughts on this or know if there was ever any public inquiry into witnesses that night?
Does anyone have more information on the layout of the Gun and Rod Club where George Dewey Nutting was last seen? I'm curious about the surrounding area and whether it could've offered potential escape routes or spots where an incident might have gone unnoticed. Given the rumors of a fight, it seems crucial to understand if there were areas inside or immediately outside the club that were poorly lit or secluded. Maybe someone local or familiar with the place back in '88 could chime in? Such details could potentially shed light on what might have happened or why George vanished so suddenly.
I’ve been following the George Dewey Nutting case for a while, and something keeps nagging at me. There's this detail about him having several distinctive scars on his forearms and left thigh. These could have been important identifiers if he turned up somewhere after that night. Has anyone looked into whether these scars were ever mentioned in missing person cases outside of Delaware? It seems like they’d be pretty noticeable and key for identification. Just thinking that a cross-reference strategy might help uncover new leads, especially since this was back in ‘88. Could be worth exploring what databases or tools exist for those kinds of searches now. Thoughts?
