Hey everyone,
I've been going down the rabbit hole with the Annette Sagers case, and something caught my attention that I haven't seen discussed much. It's the mysterious note supposedly written by Annette. The line "Dad, Mom came back. I have to go with her." feels so out of place. What's intriguing to me is the context — remember, they lived near the Mount Holly Plantation, a somewhat remote area. For Annette to write such a note, one would think she had to be incredibly convinced it was her mom or something resembling her mom's presence was strong enough to make her leave without any hesitation or fear.
I'm wondering, was there any verification that the handwriting actually matched Annette's? I know technology for comparing handwriting wasn't as advanced back in 1988 as it is today, but has anyone read anything that confirms if it was definitively her handwriting? Could it be possible that someone else wrote it to lead the investigation astray?
The fact that both Annette and her mother disappeared from practically the same spot, just 11 months apart, still gives me chills. I can't shake the feeling that the note was planted intentionally by someone who planned this. Anyone else have thoughts on the note itself or any theories on who or what might have convinced her to leave so suddenly?
Would love to hear your thoughts!
So I've been going down the rabbit hole of the Annette Sagers case again, and something that really puzzles me is the dog's behavior. The fact that Annette's dog was at the bus stop when she disappeared is so intriguing to me. Dogs are incredibly loyal, and it makes me wonder if the dog could have given us any clues if we'd only known how to interpret its actions properly back then.
I'm curious if anyone here has read up on similar cases where a pet's behavior might have offered hints about their owner's whereabouts. I've even seen suggestions in other cases where search dogs have played a pivotal role, but here the family pet at the scene was just left behind. Does anyone know if this aspect was ever fully explored by investigators?
It’s strange that the dog didn’t follow whoever Annette left with, assuming she left willingly. Thoughts?
