Has anyone else looked into the potential sightings of Martha and Eric in Oklahoma or Kansas? I'm really curious about the friend of Martha's dad who reportedly saw them in Durant. If they truly were "dirty and hungry," it might suggest they were struggling to survive. It seems like such a crucial piece of the puzzle that law enforcement wasn’t able to capitalize on it at the time. I wonder what factors made that sighting unconfirmable. Did anyone else see them in Durant around that time? Could they have moved further north after that sighting, closer to where Eric's mom lived? The whole situation makes me think they might have been trying to make their way to Kansas but were facing obstacles. Any locals on here who remember more from that time?

Has anyone else looked into Eric Glenn Owens' family ties in Kansas? I find it odd that with all the searching and reported sightings, nothing substantial came from the Kansas lead, especially since his mother supposedly lived there. It makes me wonder if there's a possibility they might have had help from someone in that area, perhaps someone connected to Eric's family who might have protected them or gave them a place to stay. I know it's a long time ago, but maybe someone remembers something or could revisit that angle to see if there’s any new info. It just seems like a promising lead that went cold too quickly. Thoughts?
