Has anyone else looked into the phone call that lured Carrie and Earl out of their home? I find it interesting how convincing it must have been to get them to leave immediately. Was the caller someone they knew or trusted? I can't help but wonder if there was some kind of personal connection or if the kidnappers knew specifics about their family to make the call believable. Also, are there any records of similar tactics being used in other cases around that time in Alabama? It just seems like such a risky gamble unless they were sure it would work. Curious to hear your thoughts or if anyone has come across similar cases.
I was reading about the Carolyn Lawson case again and something struck me about the ransom demand. It's been so many years, and I'm still puzzled by the involvement of Karen McPherson. I've always wondered if she truly didn't know where Carrie was or if she was keeping some secrets. I mean, she was convicted for her role, but what if there was more to her story? How did she get involved in something like this with Bland, and did she ever give specifics about how they planned it all? I wish more could be uncovered about her part in this whole tragedy. Anyone else feel like there's more to dig into with her involvement?
