In the early morning hours of September 11, 1991, the life of Carolyn Lawson, a 25-year-old recent law school graduate, was irrevocably altered. A deceptive phone call from a woman claiming to be a nurse and reporting a family emergency lured Carrie and her husband, Earl, out of their Jasper, Alabama, home.
