Wow, I just stumbled upon Carolyn Jean Long's case, and it got me thinking about how dangerous it can be for people trying to leave abusive relationships. I can't help but wonder if Carolyn's courage to become an informant for the DEA played a role in her disappearance. Was trying to leave an abusive spouse AND get involved in something that dangerous too much? It seems like she was caught between two very risky paths. Has anyone else seen this kind of situation before where personal safety clashed with trying to do the right thing? Makes you wonder if there's more behind Jerry's claim about her leaving for Kansas, especially given that she never reached out to family or friends from there. Gerald sure moved on quickly—seems suspicious. Would love to hear thoughts on similar cases or possible theories on what might have happened.
