Hey everyone, I stumbled across something curious while reading more about Laurie Depies' case. I've been trying to wrap my head around this: why would someone leave a cup on the hood of her car? Was it a message, or just a coincidence? Could it be that the cup was placed there after whatever happened to her occurred, maybe as a distraction or to throw off anyone investigating? Also, what about that thumbprint? It's amazing how it hasn't given any solid leads after all these years. It's one of those details that stick with you and makes you wonder if there’s something there that’s been overlooked. Would it be worth revisiting with newer forensic technology? Any thoughts or similar cases where something like this happened?
I recently stumbled across Laurie's case and something that stood out to me was the unidentified thumbprint on the Styrofoam cup found on her car hood. It's so puzzling that this print hasn’t led to any major breakthroughs even after all these years. In the true crime community, fingerprints are often a game-changer, yet here we're left with nothing concrete. It makes me wonder about the state of technology back then compared to now, and if modern advancements might give new insights. Could the print belong to someone law enforcement never suspected, or perhaps it's from an innocent interaction? I think any development in fingerprint analysis could be key in revisiting this angle. Has anyone else here seen similar cases where old prints were later revisited with new tech leading to a resolution?
