Does anyone else find it odd how Tony's disappearance led to Virginia Beach being shut down? It struck me as unusual because it indicates just how seriously the authorities must have taken the situation. I mean, closing a popular tourist spot due to dangerous surf conditions isn’t something that happens lightly. I wonder if this was the first time the beach had been closed before like this due to weather warnings. Obviously, the hurricane played a big role, but it makes me think about what measures or warnings could have been in place or if any changes were made afterward. Anyone have insights or local knowledge about how often these types of closures happen around hurricanes?
