I recently got into the Charles Franklin Hoekstra case, mainly because of the oddity surrounding his car's location. I find it strange that the red GMC Jimmy was found on a service road off I-20, right? I mean, if it was a matter of foul play or some emergency, why there and not somewhere more populated or visible? That area would've been less trafficked back in '93. Makes you wonder if whoever might have been involved chose that spot specifically, knowing it wouldn’t draw much attention right away. Also, does anyone know if there were any traffic cameras or witnesses who recall seeing the vehicle being left there around that time? Curious if that's ever been addressed or followed up on by anyone.
I’ve been following the Charles Franklin Hoekstra case for a while now, and there's one thing that's always puzzled me: the location where his GMC Jimmy was found. It's not just some random place; it was abandoned on a service road off Interstate 20, which makes me wonder about the significance of that spot. Was it chosen purposely by someone who knew the area well, or was it merely a convenient place to ditch a vehicle?
This road is more or less a connector and doesn’t really seem ideal if you're trying to get lost. I wonder if anyone ever canvassed the local businesses or nearby neighborhoods for potential witnesses or surveillance footage from that time? Maybe someone saw something unusual that day but didn't realize the importance of it back then. Just thinking out loud here, but it seems like a thread worth pulling. Any locals have more insight about the area around I-20 during the '90s?
