I've been following Barbara Baker's case for a while, and something that always puzzles me is the particular location it happened - Socrates Place. Did any of you from around Akron remember if there was anything unusual about that area back in 1979? Like, was it considered a safe neighborhood, or were there any community tensions? It's just devastating to think how Barbara's son must have felt finding her like that, and I'm trying to piece together some context around the environment at the time. Maybe something about the area could be a missing puzzle piece that helps in understanding the case better? Thoughts and insights from locals would be invaluable. Sending strength and hope to Barbara's family and friends.
