Does anyone know if there was ever any extensive search of the local waterways in Kinston around the time Tommy Walters disappeared? I've been looking at old maps and noticed the Neuse River and several smaller creeks run near where he lived on Heritage Street. If Tommy was struggling with his mental health, I'm wondering if there's a chance he might have driven near the water. It seems like something that should have been checked, but I can't find any records or discussions about searches in those areas. Anyone local remember if this angle was ever explored back in '96, or if there have been any recent efforts to dive or use sonar equipment in those parts? It’s been so long, and you’d think they’d want to rule out possible accident scenarios.
