I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that Mark's snorkeling gear was missing from his dorm room when he disappeared. If he was planning to go snorkeling, like some people suspect, it’s odd that nobody saw him with his gear or if he was seen in the Land Cruiser, there's no confirmation of him having his equipment with him. It just doesn’t add up that there were zero sightings of him with the gear or any eyewitnesses noticing a guy carrying snorkeling equipment, especially given how friendly and active he was. Plus, his roommate mentioned he wouldn’t go snorkeling alone. What are your thoughts? Could he have been planning to meet someone that morning? His gear being gone seems significant, but why has nobody come forward saying they were going to meet him? Does anyone have any theories on this part of the case?

Does anyone else find it odd that the snorkeling gear was the only thing missing from Mark's room? I mean, if the plan was just a quick dip or adventure, wouldn’t he at least take some essentials like water, sunscreen, or a change of clothes? Maybe I'm overthinking it, but it feels like something is off. I wonder if he was planning to meet someone for a longer trip or if there’s something more significant about the snorkeling gear that we're missing. Has anyone considered if there might have been sightings or rumors about someone accompanying him that day?

Has anyone else thought about how odd it is that Mark's snorkeling gear was the only thing missing from his dorm? I keep coming back to this detail. If he had plans for a quick morning snorkel, you’d think he’d at least tell his roommate, Richard, right? Maybe he spontaneously decided to check out a new spot, but why wouldn’t he have taken at least some essentials besides snorkeling gear? Pretty unsettling that nobody saw him leave, and then the vehicle ends up abandoned near Anaehoomalu Bay. It’s like he vanished into thin air. Has there been any discussion on local currents or tides in that area around July 1996? I wonder if there could be a connection somehow. Open to hearing thoughts from others who are familiar with the region or have ideas on this.
