I've been following Ernestine Hurt's case for quite some time, and one detail that's always puzzled me is the location of the attack. 202 E. 6th Street is pretty busy, even late in the evening. I can't help but wonder how someone could commit such a brutal act without attracting more attention or getting caught. Was there really nobody around who saw enough to help identify the suspect more clearly? It's haunting to think about how visibility and witnesses might have played a role here. I sincerely hope that someone who was in the area that night remembers something new or decides to come forward after all these years. It seems like such a brazen act in a public place should have more key witnesses. My heart goes out to the family; they deserve closure and long-overdue justice for Ernestine.
