On June 24, 1982, Ernestine Hurt, aged 48, was tragically stabbed to death on the sidewalk at 202 E. 6th Street in Cincinnati, Ohio. She had just finished her shift at a cleaning company and was walking towards a bus stop when she was attacked. Typically, she was accompanied by her husband or daughter at night, but on this occasion, she was alone. The attack happened suddenly, with the suspect, identified as a Black male, running up to her and stabbing her in the chest.
Ernestine was rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done to save her life. Her case remains unsolved to this day.
