I recently stumbled across the cold case of George C. Hunnel while browsing through the Ohio Attorney General’s unsolved case files. It’s disturbing to think how long his family has had to endure the pain of not knowing who took their loved one away. What really catches my attention is the role that advances in forensic technology might play in this case. Imagine what could be uncovered now with DNA analysis and modern investigative techniques that simply weren't available back in 1983.
Does anyone know if there’s been any discussion about looking into familial DNA or genetic genealogy to potentially identify new leads? It’s been a while since this tragedy unfolded, but I firmly believe there might be people out there with information, no matter how small it might seem, that could finally help solve this case. Let's hope those with any knowledge feel compelled to come forward and provide his family with the answers they’ve been seeking for so long. Any update on this would be greatly appreciated!
Hey everyone,
I was just reading about George C. Hunnel's case, and something struck me about that particular time in the early '80s. Does anyone else find it fascinating how back then, most neighborhoods seemed really tight-knit? I wonder if George knew his killer or if this was someone from outside his usual circle. It's chilling to think there could have been someone moving through the community unnoticed, especially since a lack of witnesses was mentioned. If anyone from back in the day spots something familiar in the old news clippings or has heard any stories passed down, it might be worth bringing up. Every small detail could be essential in such a long-standing mystery.
Thinking of George and hoping his loved ones find peace one day... let's keep putting our heads together.
Stay safe!
