Hey everyone, I wanted to bring up another angle about Mack Webb’s case that I don't think we've discussed much. Has anyone looked into the weather conditions around the time Mack went missing? I've been going through some old weather reports and noticed there were a few storms around early August 1998 in that area. I'm wondering if bad weather could have somehow contributed to his disappearance or confused the search efforts initially. I've read about cases where weather can really mess things up, whether it's covering tracks, making people lose their bearings, or even causing dangerous conditions that lead to accidents. I know the investigators didn't suspect foul play, but could nature itself have played a part? Curious to hear what you all think or if anyone has any more info on the weather back then.

I’ve been following Mack Webb's case for a while now, and something that's been bothering me is the state of his campsite when it was found. Those slits in the tent really stand out. I know a lot of people dismiss it as possible vandalism, but I keep thinking about Mack's military background. Wouldn’t he be more likely to make precise cuts if he needed to exit quickly for some reason? It seems odd that it would be reckless vandalism, given the location. Maybe someone here with military experience could weigh in on whether these slits could indicate any tactical maneuver or something more intentional? Just trying to piece together what might have happened during those days before his disappearance.

Does anyone else find it intriguing that there were slits in Mack Webb's tent? I'm curious if anyone has theories about whether they might have been caused by animals or maybe someone trying to break in. It seems odd for a former Marine like Webb to leave such a significant detail on his tent unnoticed. What kind of wildlife would even attempt to get into a tent like that? Also, it's strange that no tracks or other evidence were found nearby. Maybe someone who's familiar with the types of animals in Sumter National Forest during that time can weigh in? It's these little details that make this case so puzzling to me.
