I was scrolling through old missing person cases and stumbled upon Gerald Carroll's story. What really stands out to me is that his green mountain bike disappeared with him. As far as I know, people with schizophrenia often have familiar routines and objects that bring them comfort, and for Gerald, it seemed like his bike was one of those things. It's baffling to think that both he and such a significant item from his life just vanished. I wonder if anyone considered tracking down old pawn shops or cycling enthusiast groups in the area around that time. Maybe someone tried to sell the bike? It’s such a distinctive detail. Does anyone know if the investigators ever went down this avenue?
