Gerald William Carroll Sr., a 44-year-old resident of New Castle, Delaware, was last seen on October 22, 2001. He left his home in the Penn Acres area on his green mountain bike, which was his only mode of transportation, to cash a check at the Penn Mart Shopping Center. Carroll, who suffered from paranoid schizophrenia and required medication, was reported missing after he failed to return home.
