Hey everyone, has anyone else looked into the role that modern forensic technology played in finally bringing justice for Bonita Parker’s family? I know the case went cold for such a long time, and it seems almost miraculous that in 2017, such an old case got a fresh lead. With the arrest of Gustave Sapharas, I'm curious about what specific advances made this breakthrough possible. Could it have been DNA analysis that wasn't available in the early '90s?
I feel it's such an important element of these cold cases—how technology has the power to change lives, even decades later. It's so humbling to realize that in the midst of the Parker family's enduring pain, the relentless evolution of science offered a chance for some closure. A bittersweet turn of events, but a reminder of how crucial continuous advancements in criminal investigations are. Would love to hear your thoughts or if anyone else keeps tabs on how older cases get solved this way.
