I’ve been reading a lot about Ricky Crim’s case, and I keep coming back to the fact that his murder happened on April 1st – April Fools' Day. It’s always seemed like such a bizarre and tragic coincidence to me. I can’t begin to imagine the confusion and pain his family experienced that day, having such a shocking event happen on a day typically filled with jokes and laughter. This tragic twist must add a particularly haunting layer to their memories of the day. It’s incredibly difficult to fathom how something so horrific can happen in what is supposed to be the safety of a friend’s home. The fact that Ricky was just a teenager, with his whole life ahead of him, makes this all the more devastating. It’s also infuriating that after all these years, we’re still here without any concrete answers or justice for him. I really hope that with continued attention, someone out there might come forward with information. Everyone deserves closure, and Ricky’s family has been waiting far too long. If you know anything, no matter how small it may seem, please think about reaching out to the Columbus Police. Ricky deserves justice, and his family deserves peace.
