I’ve been thinking a lot about Noel Espinoza and the senseless violence that took him from his community. It's so upsetting to see these young lives lost before they've really begun. I read that Noel was just hanging out with his friend Matthew when everything happened, and it just highlights how random and terrifying life can be, especially in areas dealing with spikes in violence. What's really stuck with me is how the community responded — I've heard there were vigils and rallies to honor their memories and push for change. Does anyone know if there's been any progress or initiatives in the Mission District to tackle the gun violence since Noel and Matthew's tragic deaths? It’s so important for their families to see steps being taken to prevent future tragedies.
