Has anyone else been struck by the timing of Verla Winter's disappearance? The fact that her husband waited eight days to report her missing seems really odd to me. I get that sometimes people might think their partner just needs space, but a week without contact, especially knowing she left behind two young children, feels off. And those $400—back in '68 that was a significant amount of money. If she planned to start over, wouldn't she have taken the kids or at least told someone? It seems like there are some crucial pieces missing here. I've been following this case, and it just keeps raising more questions than answers for me. What does everyone else think about the delay in reporting her missing? Could there be more to this that maybe wasn't initially explored?
