Does anyone else find it odd that Skeeter, Sylvestre’s horse, made it back to camp without her? I keep thinking about how horses usually have a strong instinct to stay with their riders. It makes me wonder if Sylvestre tried to hold onto the reins and if Skeeter somehow shook her off or if she even had the reins when she fell. The creek was swollen with summer rains, but I've read horses are pretty adept at crossing rivers. It just doesn't sit right with me that she wasn't able to hold on. Was Skeeter spooked by something or did something happen up the creek before they got to Granite? There’s just so much mystery around this case, and knowing these details could help us piece together what might have happened that day. Anyone have thoughts on horse behavior in such situations or details about Granite Creek’s conditions back in '77?
