So, I've been going through old newspapers and found something interesting about Evelyn Louise Davis’s case that I hadn't realized before. Back in 1979, there were rumors in the community about a possible connection between Evelyn's disappearance and some shady dealings in the area. Apparently, there was talk about Robert Wooten being involved in activities outside the law, if you catch my drift. What's really baffling to me is Debbie Taylor's sudden change in story. Why lie about knowing Evelyn if there's nothing to hide? Her murder by Wooten is tragic and makes me wonder if she knew something more. Still can't shake the feeling that Wooten's cryptic comments are the key. Does anyone know if there were any efforts to map connections between people they might have both known? This case seriously keeps me up at night.
